Kostas Bakoyannis

Mayor of Athens

Kostas Bakoyannis is Mayor of Athens. He served as Governor of Central Greece from 2014 to 2019 and as Mayor of Karpenissi, from 2011 to 2014.

He has worked at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as executive manager in an Investor Relations and Corporate Communications company in Athens and has held positions in the European Parliament in Brussels and the World Bank in Kosovo.

He is the vice president of the Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government, a council member of the European Council on Foreign Relations and a Greek Leadership Council member of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

Ullrich Sierau 

Ullrich Sierau has been the lord mayor of Dortmund since 2009. He worked at the State Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia and was director of the Institute for Regional and Urban Development Research in Dortmund. In 1999, he became head of the Environment and Planning Department of the city Dortmund until he was appointed city manager in 2007.

John Jorritsma

John Jorritsma has been mayor of Eindhoven since September 2016. As mayor of Eindhoven he chairs the South East Brabant Security Region and the Metropolitan Region.He is also chairman of the Brainport foundation, the multi-helix partnership of companies, knowledge institutions and local authorities in the Southeast Netherlands, aiming to keep and strengthen the position of Brainport as the top technology region. Previously, Jorritsma had a long career in public administration and economic development.

Marie Zezulkova

Marie Zezulkova started her professional career at the Brno City Municipality, where she participated in founding the Union of Towns and Municipalities of South Moravia as well as the Regional Development Agency of South Moravia. She participates as a member of the working group for cohesion policy in the Union, and in the European working groups ‘Cities of Tomorrow’ (DG Regio) and ‘Metropolitan Areas’ (EUROCITIES). She´s a member of Scientific Board at Mendel University in Brno.

Currently, she focuses on activities regarding the European Urban Agenda and metropolitan cooperation in the Czech Republic within the new EU programming period, in particular on Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI).
